リトルペナン（サンデーマケット）チャリティプログラム Charity Event at Little Penang Street Market - 27th March 2011

Little Penang Street Market has kindly provided the venue
for the　charity event organized by the Japanese
community　staying in Penang　together with the local
people on 27 March 2011.

Food, orchids and handicrafts were donated by many kind
donors　and　went for sale on that day.

Some Japanese ladies also taught visitors how to fold
"tsuru"　or cranes　to be sent to Japan.
Lots of well wishes cards were written to deliver messages
to the victims too.

As money is not everything, at this moment, not only they
need cash　donation, the feeling and wishes that we sent
over　to them thru　senbatsuru and well wishes on the
"card of Hope"　will also give them　courage and energy to
rebuild their nation.

Sending condolences to the people of Japan, particularly
those who　lost loved ones in the earthquake & tsunamis is
also one of the project　focused by the Japanese and the
local　people of Penang thru this event.

All cash donation collected on that day will be sent to
Japan Red Cross Society.

The Japanese community who organized this event
tendered their thanks to Little Penang Street Market,
volunteer helpers, donors, visitors and the press for their
kind assistance, time and effort they offered and the
spirit they have given which made this event a big success.

２０１１年３月２７日リトルペナン（サンデーマケット）でペナン
在住の日本人の有志により ローカルの人たちと一緒に、
東北の被災地に向けたチャリティプログラムが開催されました。

当日、援助金を集める為に、ペナン在住の日本人の方
やヨーロッパ人や中国人の方たちが一所懸命作って
寄付して下さった、お寿司や、チラシ寿司、いなり
寿司、栗ご飯、お赤飯、サンドイッチ、

中華丼、大学いも、おはぎ、かりんとう、磯部もち、
ケーキや焼き菓子、パン、サトウキビ寒天、
その他食品を販売。また手作りクラフト、
胡蝶蘭など寄付され、販売しました。

そして亡くなられた方たちへの追悼とし、
各テーブルに美しくフラワーアレンジされた

お花が寄付され飾られました。

日本人や鶴の折り方を知っているローカルの若い子たちがボランティアとしてお手伝いして下さリ、
訪れた方たちに鶴の折り方を教え、一緒に祈りを込めて被災地ヘ送る千羽鶴を折りました。

また、お家や大切な家族や、友人、お仕事を失くされ、心を痛めた被災者
たちへ届きますように小さい子供からお年寄まで、世界各地の人たちが
沢山励ましの温かいメッセージカードを書いてもらいました。

金銭的、物質的援助は今はとっても大切な事ですが、私たちはお金だけが全てじゃないことも知っております。

私たちのグループが重きを置いているのは『思い』そして『被災者たちの為に祈ること』です。

日本から遠くに居る私たちが、今ここで出来る事は、ローカルの人々とペナンに住む

さまざまな人たちと一緒に祈りを込めて、千羽鶴を折ったり、メッセージカードを書くことで、

心のケアーが出来たらと思っております。

皆で一緒に今回の震災について考え、そしてその思いを被災者の皆様にお届けしたい、こんな遠くからも

心を痛め、祈ってくれている人達がいると言う事を届け、少しでも被災者の方々ヘの、心の支え、

そして亡くなられた方たちへの追悼になればと思っております。

なお有志での活動ですので、集まった義援金については、リトル．ペナン事務局の協力、監視のもと

ペナンの日本領事館を通し、日本赤十字社へ送金されます。

送金完了後、領収書を添えて、リトル．ペナンウエーブサイトにて、報告される予定です。

東北の被災地のためにご協力して下さった、リトル．ペナンストリートマーケット事務局、

一所懸命お手伝いしてくださったボランティアの人たち、そしてお忙しい中、義援金するためにお越しくださった方たち、報道機関、その他　おかげさまで皆様の温かなご支援、ご協力によりにこの企画が大成功に終わりました。心より感謝申し上げます。

東北被災者たちへ必ず大きなパワーとなって、思いが届き、少しでも励みになっていただきますように。
