For the month of March, Little Penang pays tribute to our neighbours in this region. Anchoring this market will be a fund raiser with proceeds going to Japanese Red Cross Society for Japan Earthquake and Tsunami Disaster victims. This event will be spearheaded by a group of Japanese, Penangites and other expatriate communities who have made Penang their home. There’ll be wonderful cakes and crafts available, so eat and shop for a good cause! We would also like to invite vendors and friends of Little Penang to contribute things to sell where money collected goes to helping the victims of the devastation in Japan. Please contact Little Penang Street Market at 017 4290806 for further information on how you can help or donate for the betterment of the victims.
In the line up is also a kebaya fashion show from Surabaya, Indonesia by Rosy Chou and her friends and a Lomo Photo Wall by Sher Lim (an analogue kiosk in 1st Avenue) On top of our special guests, we have our faithful vendors showcasing arts, crafts and yummy food, dazzling performances by Peranakan Culturaz Singers, Tanjung Jammers, USM's Saxomania and many more.
Self taught artists - Jennifer Mourin and Susan Loone will also be displaying their vibrant art pieces. So, come and be part of a movement to help all those in need in Japan. It's all happening at Little Penang Street Market on Sunday, 27th March 2011 from 10am to 5pm at Upper Penang Road.
