トーホー和風ストラップ Toho kit - Japanese style strap

今日もトーホーさんのキットで作成。和飾りですね。
綺麗の紫色と白色の花を合わせて、お洒落な和風ストラップをできました。


Today completed another Japanese strap by Toho.
This was an interesting one to make.
The pastel colors of light purple and white flowers were
joined together with golden beads. Czech beads were
also used to make the strap.
It fun as this is the first time I need to do some macrame to make the strap.

まな板の花 Tole Painting - Flowers on chopping board

丸いまな板にいっぱいの花を描きました。
描いれたの花には各々に違った表情が見られます。
明るいと薄い色を使いが華やいた雰囲気を感じさせます。

I painted this many years back.
These flowers are painted on a round chopping board.
The different colors used on all these big and small flowers creates a
peaceful and calm atmosphere.

今回はめずらしく和風のキットを作ってみました
朱色と空色の姫まり。
それに・・・簡単なキットでも、初めて作る場合は結構間違っちゃったりして・・
「もう一度やり直したい～～～」って思うもんなんですよね
でも、それほど難しいキットではないので、とりあえず所要時間内に完成です。
私は朱色のほうのキットが気に入った
二つ並べると、より可愛いです！

This is a present from Mrs. Minae Suegama.
The materials inside this kit are for making 2 charms, red and blue.
Thought it's a simple kit, yet I made mistake and redo the whole thing all over.
I particularly like the red one more becos the color is brighter.

昨日と一昨日は、ペナンストレイツキーの手作り市に出店しました。
ご来場いただいた、みなんさん本当にありがとうございました。

涼しく過ごすことができました。

土曜日に空には雲がたくさんありましたが、途中で太陽が顔をだしたりと、
そんな一日でした。
最後の方は、雨が降り出した。ここは屋根があるのでバタバタしないです。

いそがしくなりそうですが、来月も手作り市に応募する予定です。

Yesterday and day before I had a stall at Straits Quay Craft Market and although it was hot in the morning when I set up, it actually turned out to be a beautiful day. For those who have not been to Straits Quay yet, it's a waterfront mall at Seri Tanjung Penang, Tanjong Tokong, behind Island Plaza, Penang. The project includes a marina, where visitors can get a panoramic view of George Town. The market has 20 stalls selling handicrafts, photos of Penang, handmade soap and many more .

My ex-colleagues Phooi San and Seow Jen came to visit on Saturday while Lan Ai came with her husband and daughter on Sunday.

数年前昼休みに、週末には、それを刺した。
夜は、ダークブルー色は非常に類似して間違いを避けるために慎重にチャートを見ていたを縫うことは非常に時間がかかります。
クロスステッチのお店からこのコピーデザインを買った。私は、糸を購入する前に、在庫で利用されているすべて糸を調べた。数百かせを持っているので。

I completed this many years back stitching it during my
lunch hour and at weekends. It is very difficult to stitch
this at night cos the dark blue colors were very similar
and looking at the chart carefully to avoid making
mistakes is very time consuming but the end result is satisfaction.
I bought this photocopy design from a cross stitch shop
here and floss are not included with the pattern. First I
checked whether I have any floss that are available in
my stock before buying any as I have hundred skein
of threads in my boxes.
The 2 birds bringing twigs and leaves building the nest for their new baby is what that caught my eyes. They are going to have their little one in the jean's pocket...what a genius idea.

Today is the last craft market for 2010 and I have joined this market for a year since January 2010. We will be celebrating new year in a week's time. Time flies and I sincerely thank everyone who have come to the craft market and supported us for this whole year. I have made lots of new friends and also got the chance to catch up with old friends and this month I met my ex-colleague whom I have not seen for 10 years. And I also like to thank Lyndy and the rest of the committee for their time and commitment in organizing this fantastic market ..sorry I don't know your names cos Lyndy always come and collect the stall rental fees so she is the only one I contact.

至点 Winter Solstice 22 DEC 2010

Tang Yuan bought from Pulau Tikus morning market.
This stall sells Tang Yuan everyday so you don't have to wait for
one whole year to get this delicacy.
モーリングマーケットで買ったのおもちとスープ。

The traditional colors of Tang Yuan.　伝統的なおもち。

太陽が赤道から北または南に最も遠く離れる時は至点。中国人はおもちを食べる。
砂糖と水とパンダンリーフで作ったのスープに色付けたのおもちをこの祭りを祝う。

Dong Zhi is celebrated by Chinese all over the world on the day when the Earth"s axial tilt is farthest away from the sun and this is based on the Gregorian (Western) solar calendar. In Malaysia, Chinese families celebrate winter solstice by making tang yuan, a tradition dessert made out of rice flour which are colored by using food colouring or natural colors from flowers and leaves. This is served with clear soup made from sugar, water and screwpine leaves. Some families adds in ginger to make the soup but I found it too gingery.

This year I didn't celebrate cos Mum is spending her holidays in Adelaide and Melbourne and I am too lazy to make this dessert just for two persons. I went to Pulau Tikus morning market and bought a packet for RM2.50. When my kids were small, they love this festival very much cos they can join in the fun to make tang yuan, rolling the flour into varies sizes of round balls with their palms.

トールペイント : バラとデージープレート Daisy and Rose - Tole Painting

ピンクと黒を大胆に組み合わせたプレートは、バラとデージーと黄色の花が
爽やかな雰囲気に仕上げますのデザイン。

This design uses the comma stroke, the basis for many decorative designs.
This project also uses side loading for highlighting and shading in acrylics
to shade the roses and the leaves. I painted the background black to
bring out the color of the white daisy and the small yellow flowers.
