Cherrie's Malaysian lanterns from grandpa
Hong Kong Mooncakes from Sum and Cindy
Mid Autumn Festival, a traditional Chinese festival which is
held annually on the 15th day of the eighth month in the
Chinese calendar. This year it falls on 22 Sept 2010. It is
a date that parallels the autumnal equinox of the solar
calendar, when the moon is supposedly at its fullest and
roundest. In my childhood time, my sisters and brothers
and I joined other children in the neighbourhood and
we carried lanterns lighted up with candles and walked
around our housing estate eating mini mooncakes for kids.
In this mordern time children carry lanterns with battery
operated lights.
